Anna Carruthers, the proprietor of St. Ambrose Honey, is a third generation apiarist and is a member of the Ontario Beekeepers Association. Anna started St. Ambrose Honey as a hobby beekeeper in 1999. St Ambrose Honey has been in operation ever since and has grown to produce and sell many more honey related products.
St. Ambrose Honey is a small business providing premium products. Our honey is 100% local, undiluted, and pure. Our honey is unpasteurized and packaged at 16.5 to 17 percent moisture. Due to our cold process extraction and filtration, our honey contains a larger content of vitamin C, natural enzymes and pollen.
St. Ambrose Honey was named after Saint Ambrose, Bishop of Milan and patron of beekeepers and candle makers. He was the patron Saint of Anna’s great-grandfathers beekeepers guild in the Netherlands. His feast is celebrated on December 7th.
